How to set up notifications on your phone
Your Decisions uses local notifications — they work without a server and never send your data anywhere. On some Android firmware, background apps get aggressively "killed", and notifications may not arrive. Choose your brand below and follow the steps.

HOW TO VERIFY IT WORKS
- 01Create any decision and set it to "72-hour pause" status. The app will schedule a notification exactly 72 hours from now.
- 02Close the app and use your phone normally.
- 03The notification should arrive 72 hours later.
If notifications still don't arrive, the firmware is blocking local notifications despite all permissions — this can't be fixed at the app level. The only workaround: occasionally open the app yourself and check the feed — all pending check-ins and expired pauses are visible there regardless.
WHY IT'S BUILT THIS WAY
Telegram, WhatsApp, and email clients use push servers (Apple Push Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging). These are whitelisted on every firmware — no one blocks them.
But a push service means: the notification comes from the app maker's server — they know its content, they know you received it, they know when. For a decision tracker where the whole point is that your data never leaves the device, this is fundamentally unacceptable.
So we use local notifications: when you create a decision, the app tells the OS "wake me up in 3 days". This is honest, private, and requires no internet. But aggressive firmware "forgets" this request when the app goes to background.
We believe privacy matters more than perfect notification delivery. If you disagree — there are many habit trackers with push servers, and they'll be more reliable on your phone. But your data will go to a server.
